Past

It was the desire to walk in the sunlight that brought the vampires to the top of the mountain where his parents had built their nest. It was their first nest, and they had hoped that such an isolated location would keep others away. It worked for the most part, and those that did managed to stumble upon their nest were easy to scary away. That is until the vampire came. The vampires' desire to steal the eggs within the nest in order to make a magical potion that would enable them to walk into the sunlight for a short while crashed with Aisvydas' parents' desire to protect their children. It was the vampires' desire that proved stronger that day.

They left his parents in a bloody heap before stealing the eggs away for their potion, but not all the vampires were interested in a quick and temporary solution to their problem. One vampire--a mad scientist of sorts--know that there was a permanent way to walk into the sunset, and the answer laid in gene manipulation. He decided to steal one of the eggs his people had just acquired, and fate would have it Aisvydas was inside that egg.

This was not the first dragon egg that had fallen into this vampire's hands over the years, and because of this he had learned a few things about manipulating the dragon's genetic code. For reasons, he couldn't explain the dragon's genetic make-up couldn't be altered while it was still inside the egg. Every time he attempted to do that the dragon ended up dying. So, it was for this reason that the vampire decided to wait to start his experiments until Aisvydas hatch.

From the very moment Aisvydas entered the world he understood why he had been spared the same fate as his siblings. He held no ill feelings towards the vampires who slaughtered his family nor the one who was conducting horrific experiments upon him. He bore no emotions for anything expect for curiosity--if that actually was an emotion. The years drift by with no real results. The vampire had managed to alter Aisvydas genetic code, but not in the way he liked. He had hoped to make Aisvydas dependent upon blood in the same manner that vampires were, but only managed to help him gain extra abilities with the consumption of blood rather than a need for it in order to survive.

The vampire declared him a failed experiments, and decided to sell him like any other item that ceased to be useful. He was taken to an auction where he was bought by an angel. While the vampire viewed Aisvydas as a worthless piece of junk, the angel saw him as something truly priceless. A dragon-vampire were extremely rare in the world, and dragon given vampiric  characteristics were considered even more rare--even if they were minute ones.

His new master was an extremely possessive being that didn't like sharing what he deemed his with the rest of the world. The angel forced Aisvydas to keep his dragon form most of the time, and kept him locked in his basement when he wasn't using him as his personal transport from one location to the other. This was done to help remind Aisvydas of what he was. However, Aisvydas didn't care. He greeted his new master's treatment of him in the same manner that he viewed his old one's.

He was not completely obedient to the angel's will. Aisvydas found himself sneaking out of his estate, in spite the fact he knew the angel would be displeased with him for doing this. It was during one of these outings that he met her--the girl that would change it all. She was the most beautiful creature he ever laid his eyes upon. He found himself drawn to her, and he sneaked away from his most estate to spend time with her. The time he spent with her opened his eyes to worlds he had never experienced before.

The first was the world of emotions. He found himself feeling them for the first time in his entire existence. The second world was the world of literature. She taught him how to read. Slowly over the course of time their relationship changed from simple acquaintances to friendship and eventually into something more. They had fallen in love. He decided to marry her and forgo ever returning to his master estate.

After their wedding, they moved into a small village where Aisvydas took a job as a teacher. It was his turn to introduced others to the world of written words. He found great joy in teaching the youth of the village. He loved their thirst for knowledge and being the one to be able to quench it somewhat. Life was good.

However, he would learn that his happiness wouldn't last forever. A witch-fairy had been searching the world for Aisvydas' wife in order to make her pay for her deceased mother scorning his father years ago. However, when the witch-fairy found Aisvydas wife he realized that it wasn't just vengeance he would be achieving. He recognized Aisvydas as the property of his father's friend. He saw an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. He returned home, and told his father about this.
He returned with his father to where Aisvydas' home, and cast a spell upon his wife. It was a spell that created illusions--created things that weren't true. However, Aisvydas had no idea that his wife was under the influence of a spell. The only thing he knew was how things played out on his end.

And things played out like this. His wife returned home and uttered the phrase the angel had used to force him to change into his dragon. Upon seeing what he was she became horrified and determined to kill the four children that she had bore for him---the monster as she called him. First, she killed their one year old son by flinging him against a tree. She then asked the villagers to help restrain him while she rid the world of the rest. They--like her--had no idea that he was a dragon, somehow managed to do what she asked.

Aisvydas watched as she killed their six year old daughter and one of their nine year old twin boys. Both his daughter's pleas for him to save her and his son's acceptance of his fate haunts Aisvydas even to this day. He will never forget his daughter's cries nor how his son endured his mother's beating without uttering a sound and just before death took him, the way he turned his eyes towards Aisvydas and saying "It's alright daddy. I still love you."

He managed to break free of the villagers just before she managed to kill their last child. He took to the air, freezing his wife solid and  taking their four children with him. He took his nine year old son that was still alive to get medical help, but he knew his chance of survival was slim before he buried his other three children. After that task was done, he returned to his only living child and stayed by his side until he died.

Just like his other children, his son's death is something that will stay with him until the end of time. First, his son inquired about the reason behind their mother's action. He wanted to know if they had done something wrong. He wanted to know why their mother did what she did. Why did she hate them. Aisvydas only had answer for the first question. The last question his boy asked him before he passed away was permission to go into the light. Aisvydas knew what his son was actually asking. He was seeking his father's permission to die. Aisvydas wanted to tell his son no, but he couldn't. He told his son to go right ahead and watched him die just a few moments later.

He buried his head upon his son's lifeless body and sobbed. He cried until he couldn't cry anymore and then sobbed some more. During his entire time with his wife, Aisvydas had never felt such intense pain. He cried until his insides felt numb, but the pain was still there. he felt like it would always be there. He hated the pain. He hated what it represented. He wanted it to stop, and so decided to bury all his emotions beneath a hard shell. If he didn't have to deal with them then he wouldn't have to deal with the pain either. He gathered his son's body and buried him with his siblings.

Try as he might he couldn't return to the emotional state he had been in before he met his wife, but he refused to allow anyone get close to him. He pushed them away by acting like a heartless jerk. The only time he allowed his guard down when he was teaching. Even if he wanted to he couldn't deny the joy it brought him. He traveled the world, keeping one step ahead of the angel. Years passed, and he eventually met Jasiel, who became Aisvydas friend--in spite his attempt to push him away.

They both had an extreme love of literature and teaching. However, as they got into the modern world they found they couldn't just go into a town and teach. They had to acquire the proper education. And so they attend school together. They will go off to teach at some school and when people start to question the fact they never age they start the process all over again.

One day while cutting through a back alley the angel found him, and dragged him back to his estate where he chained him in his dragon form inside his basement. Aisvydas couldn't be trusted not to attempt to leave permanently again. The only way out of the basement was through a doorway that Aisvydas was too big to walk through while in his dragon from.

He wasn't the only living being that the angel kept in his estate at this moment. The other was a little girl named Roselynde, whom his master's possessiveness for went beyond that of anything else he had collected. This little girl found her way into the basement that Aisvydas was chained up in. He knew that the angel would not be please about their interaction, but he didn't know who would receive the blunt of the angel's rage--him or the girl.

He didn't want to see Roselynde hurt decided to convince her to leave and never return, but he secretly wanted her to stay.Roselynde sensing his true desire refused to leave no matter how cruelly he treated her. They slowly developed a friendship--a fact that he would deny. However, their meetings would be found out by the age. The angel went into a rage and proceeded to beat Roselynde.

Aisvydas fearing that she was going to die in the same manner that his children died broke free from his chains, swept the girl up and took to the sky by breaking through the roof. He took Roselynde home, leaving her at her front stop and waiting overhead until she was safe inside and then he went to a field, changed back into his human form and found his friend Jasiel. He returned to what his life had been before the angel had found him.

Present

He and Jasiel teaches at the same school. However, he is a very different teacher than Jasiel. Through, they both attempt to keep themselves from having a personal relationship with those at the school. They just do it in different manners. Aisvydas has no problem sleeping with those at his work--including his students. Jasiel, on the other hand, will not. Their teaching methods are different. Aisvydas is affectionately called Mr. Dragon by his students because of the way he barks at them.

He believed that modern day students lacked the same zeal for learning as those he taught in the past. A fact that rather irritated him, and thus it made him short with them. However, he would have thought that his yelling at them in the manner he did would push them further away but it seemed that his own passion for reading sparked their own passion. He strangely enough became one of their favorite teachers.

One of the students he had an affair with is a girl by the name of Aliya, whom he had fallen in love with. He denies this fact, and does everything in his power to make her believe that she is nothing more than just another lay. He also has been reacquainted to Roselynde. Unlike, Aliya she refuses to believe his 'I don't care about you' facade. Much like she had when they first met in the angel's basement.
